Yields approximately 250 grams

Ingredients

  • 75g turmeric (ideally organic)
  • 70g cold-pressed coconut oil (ideally organic)
  • 250ml water or Mushroom Broth
  • ½ to 1 ½ tsp of black pepper
  • ½ to 1 ½ tsp ceylon or premium cinnamon
  1. Whisk turmeric and water together in a small pot.
  2. Simmer on a medium to low heat for 7-10 minutes, whisking until a paste forms (add more water as required.)
  3. Turn off heat and add coconut oil, ground pepper and cinnamon.
  4. Mix until well combined.
  5. Let cool.
  6. Store in a glass jar for up to 3 weeks or portion into ice cube molds and freeze.

Start with ¼ tsp per 5 kg of body weight and gradually increase. For a large dog the maximum amount would be 1 tbsp twice daily.

Notes:

Be aware that turmeric stains hands and clothes.

Turmeric leaves the body quickly; feed smaller amounts throughout the day.

You can enjoy golden paste yourself as an addition to a milky cup of tea.
